
Tuition – Please make sure you have made all the tuition payments (including any late charges that have accrued), and have paid all your school fees for this year. NO child will sit for final exams, participate in graduation exercises, or receive a diploma or report card unless all balances are cleared. Also, no records will be released to another school if you owe tuition, tuition late fees or school fees. Tuition payments for the 2007/2008 school year begin in August (payment #1). Statements will be mailed out by, and tuition payments will be made to, Tuition Management Systems. All payments must be received by TMS on or before your due date to avoid late charges. · Jeanine Bruen (7-1) winner of the Mary Spillane Scholarship. Jeanine wrote an award winning essay about how teachers have influenced her to be the best student she can be. Jeanine won a $500.00 scholarship to be applied to the 2007/2008 school year.
· The Sammon Family (Nicole 7-1) winners of the May tuition raffle.
· Juline Garcia (8-1) winner of the T- shirt slogan contest for the American Cancer Society.
Thank you and Congratulations – To Ms. Kimberly Laurie and all her students whose works of art were exhibited in St. Teresa’s very first art show. What a huge success it was! Also, thanks to all the parents for showing their support to all the budding artists and the art program.
Sad Farewell – At the end of this school year, one of our teachers will be leaving us. Mrs. Liz Watson will be retiring . We want to wish Mrs. Watson a happy and well-deserved retirement. We also would like to thank this wonderful educator for the years she has devoted to educating our students. She will never know the amount of lives she touched.
Final Exams – Please consult the calendar on the back of this newsletter for exact dates.
New York State Social Studies Exam – Our 8th graders will be taking the NYS Social Studies Exam on Wednesday and Thursday, June 6th & 7th.
Field Day – Field day will be held on Friday, June 15th from 10:00AM – 2:00PM for grades 1-7. All field day activities will be held in the large schoolyard. All parents may attend Field day, however, siblings who are not in grades 1 through 7 of St. Teresa School may NOT attend. More information to follow.
Graduation – The following are dates and times for Graduation 2007:
· Pre-K 4 year olds – Wednesday, June 13th – 10:30 AM – St. Teresa Church
· Kindergarten – Wednesday, June 13th – 9:00 AM – St. Teresa Church
· Eighth Grade – Saturday, June 16th – 10:30 AM – St. Teresa Church
*Reception will follow the Pre-K and Kindergarten Graduation ceremonies. The receptions will be held in the school lunchroom.
We are proud of all our Graduates for all that you have accomplished!
Eighth Grade Graduation Week – The week prior to graduation will be a week of half days for our eighth grade. On Monday, June 11th through Wednesday, June 13th, the graduates will come to school regular time and be dismissed at 11:00 AM. There will be NO bus service to take them home. You must arrange for their transportation from school. On Thursday, June 14th there will be NO school for the eighth grade. This will give them a chance to get ready for their dance, which will be held that night. On Friday, June 15th, the eighth grade will come to school at 9:30 AM for a final graduation practice. They will be dismissed at 11:00 AM.
Report Cards – Report cards will be distributed to the children on Wednesday, June 20th. Teachers will be available for any parent wishing to speak to them on Thursday, June 21st from12:00 PM – 1:30 PM.
Sneaker Month – Since so many of our children have outgrown their school shoes, the month of June will be “Sneaker Month.” The children will be permitted to wear their sneakers with their uniform during the entire month.
Last Week of School – The last week of school, June 18th to June 22nd , will be 11:00 AM dismissal. Bus children will board the buses at 10:50 AM and walk-homes will be dismissed at 11:00 AM.
Summer Mailing – You will be receiving a letter some time in August that will pertain to the start up of school for September. School will begin again for grades K-8 on Wednesday, September5th, at 7:55 AM, Pre-K 4 year olds will begin on Monday, September 10th at either 8:30 AM or 12:00 PM.
Looking Ahead to September 2007 – In order to help you plan your budget for the beginning of the school year 2007/2008, we would like to inform you that the following school fees will be in place:
· General Fee for grades Kindergarten through Eighth is $150.00 per student ~ Due by Oct. 1st
· General Fee for Pre-K 4 (5 half days AM & PM) is $185.00 per student ~ Due by Oct. 1st
· Supervision Fee for grades Kindergarten through Eighth is $25.00 per student ~ Due by Sept. 21st
· Computer Fee for grades Pre-K 4 through Eighth is $90.00 per family ~ Due by Oct. 1st
· Parish Maintenance Fee -$250.00 per family ~ Due by November 1st
*Anyone who wishes to pay the General Fee over the summer may do so by mailing a check or money order to: St. Teresa School, 1632 Victory Blvd. SI, 10314, Attention: Mrs. Laurie. All checks/money orders are payable to: St. Teresa School. Please include your child’s name, class. and the words “General Fee”
