Mission Statement

St. Augustine once said "Those who sing well pray twice". In this spirit we lead our community in elevating to God our prayers through hymns of glory, joy and gratitude.

CHOIR NEWS

The St Teresa’s senior choir will sing their first Sunday Mass today at 9:00 am.  New members are always welcome, and can find out more by leaving their names and telephone numbers or e-mail addresses at the rectory for Mr. Morand, anytime.  Newcomers are also welcome to come up to the choir loft, each Thursday at 2:45 for choristers (grades 1 – 8) or at 10:30 am each Sunday for senior choir (high school or older).  We look forward to hearing from you, or you can e-mail Mr. Morand at: edkeys@si.rr.com

YOUR FAVORITE HYMNS

Singing is an important part of our Sunday celebration of the Eucharist.  Here at Saint Teresa’s, musical participation in the sung parts of the Mass is outstanding.  In regard to the hymns, some fly better than others.  What are your favorite hymns?  We would like to know.  Just jot them down, place them in an envelope, and drop it in the collection basket.  Or, if you wish, you may mail your “old favorites” to the rectory.  As we plan for the fall season, we’ll give your suggestions to Mr. Morand.  And, unless we’re wrong, we suspect one of those “old favorites” that will emerge at the top of the chart will be “How Great Thou Art”!  Give us your opinions.  We’re anxious to here from you.

Music Ministry

The Choirs of St. Teresa’s Parish, after a much-deserved summer break, have returned to serving our parish at their respective Masses, 9:30 AM (Choristers) and 11:00 AM, each Sunday morning, and on our principal Holydays.  While they’ve come a long way, we need more singers, if we’re to grow.  All that’s required is the love of singing, a reasonably good ear, and a willingness to join in about one hour of weekly rehearsal in our choir loft each Thursday, at 2:45 PM for the Choristers, and 7:00 PM, for the Senior Choir.  Choristers are welcome, from ages 5-14.  Senior Choir Members are generally age 15 and older.  Won’t you consider joining us?  Just speak to Mr. Morand after one of the Masses, or come to our rehearsals, each Thursday, from now through the end of October.  We’ll fit in a painless audition, between our rehearsal moments, we promise!  And if you come, won’t you bring a friend?  We’d love to meet you!
