Mission Statement |

Altar Servers are given the privilege
to assist the Priest during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Our mission is to
have a good general knowledge of the Mass, to serve with full attention to every
detail, to dress in a manner suitable for the Sanctuary, to not only serve, but
to listen and respond to the Mass parts that pertain to the people, to set a
good example for others by displaying a sincere sense of reverence for the
Sacred Mysteries in which we are participating and to grow in our love and
devotion to our Church and to God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. |

1. All servers must have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Penance/Confession, and Holy Communion. 2. Servers also must be practicing Catholics who attend Catholic Mass EACH and EVERY Sunday. 3. Servers will be placed on a schedule that will be subject to change each week. 4. Server schedules can be found in our bulletin and on our web site: www.saintteresasi.org 5. Servers should always be neatly attired. 6. Boys are to wear black shoes or black sneakers. NO WHITE SNEAKERS. NO SHORTS ALLOWED. 7. Girls should NOT wear high heeled shoes. NO OPEN TOED SHOES. NO flip flops. NO SHORTS or anything sleeveless. 8. Liturgical dress for boys is the Roman Cassock and for girls is the Alb. 9. Serving Funeral Masses during the week is something requested but is limited to servers in the 7th & 8th grades. The assignment of servers will depend on their class schedule and academic performance. 10. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN IN! (SO I KNOW YOU SERVED YOUR SUNDAY MASS). If you do not serve your weekend Masses your name will be removed from the list. 11. If you cannot make it to your assigned Mass call another server and see if you can swap masses with them or ask someone who is off to serve for you. Do NOT call the Rectory. 12. To serve in the sanctuary is a privilege and a wonderful way to participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. I thank you for your service and appreciate your cooperation. God Bless you!
