 PARISH MISSION PRAYER

God, Our Father, we offer you praise and thanksgiving for all the many gifts you have given us through Jesus, Your Son.  We thank you especially for the gift of our parish Mission.
Loving and gracious God, quiet our minds and hearts, that we may be open to the gift of your truth.  Grant that our Mission may be:

A Time of Grace for all,
A Time of growth for the young,
A Time of refreshment for the old,
A Time of renewal for families,
A Time of healing for the broken,
A Time of joy for the sorrowing,
A Time of challenge for the complacent,
A Time of forgiveness for the sinner,
A Time of strength for the holy,
A Time of homecoming for those who have been away.

Grant, most Loving God, that our Mission may bring down your richest blessings on each and every member of our Parish community.
We pray through the intercession of Mary, our Mother, in the name of Jesus Christ who lives with you and the Holy Spirit forever.  Amen.

Dear St. Teresa Families and Parishioners:

We would like to invite all the families of the YAA and their Sport Subsidiaries, Lectors, Cantors, CCD Members, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Alter Servers, Holy Name Society, Golden Age Society, Choir, School Faculty, Garden Group, Parish Players, Hospitality Group, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of St. Teresa’s parish to participate in the upcoming Mission of the Blessed Sacrament which will be celebrated from Sunday, September 24th to Thursday, September 28th

Redemptorist Father William Gaffney will conduct this Parish wide Renewal.  All meetings, sports and social activities will be suspended this week to allow everyone the opportunity to participate in the Mission.  In preparation for the Mission, we are requesting that everyone recite the Mission Prayer, located below, and to reach out to everyone, practicing and non-practicing, young and old, and invite them to come to the Mission.  Our Parish must first and foremost come together as a family of faith, and this Mission will lay the groundwork that will make this possible.

Week 1

Begin to pray and prepare yourself for an extraordinary parish mission, which will give you so much hope, peace and a life rooted in love and faith.  So often, we can feel stressed out and helpless against the forces out to destroy the love and unity in our home and cause us so much heartache.  What can we do?  This mission will show how we, the ordinary people of this world, definitely can do something about this culture of death.  We can make a difference.  Come to this mission.  Rearrange your schedule.  Bring others with you.  Together we can believe and hope again.  “Hope does not disappoint (Rm 5:15).  The future belongs to those who have hope.

Week 2

We are all praying for our families.  But because of the breakdown in family life, we may think that our prayers are not being answered.  So many are broken-hearted because they have family members who have left the faith and who are living lives offensive to God.  The up-coming Parish Mission will help us to have trust and confidence in the compassionate Heart of Christ.  During the mission you will have the opportunity to place your loved ones in the Heart of Jesus.   Come to the mission in the name of your family.  “Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.  Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6-7)

Week 3

The parish mission is coming!  Your family at St. Teresa’s embraces your family unit at home, and invites you to be a part of this extraordinary happening.  Whether yours is comprised of one or twenty-one, young and not so young, you are welcome.  There is something here for everyone.  Don’t miss this opportunity to make a profound difference in your home and your parish.  Mark your calendars and come to this mission.  You won’t be sorry.

Week 4

When we live out the role of victim we become disillusioned, critical and angry.  We can feel like all is lost because of the forces of disbelief seem to be winning with all their money and glitz and ourselves become disunited, confused and discouraged.  We ourselves can begin to doubt the sacred truths of our faith.   During this extraordinary Parish Mission, Jesus will touch your heart and your home.  Again, you will find the treasure hidden in the field and the delirious joy of finding the pearl of great price (Mt. 13:44-46).  “And the victory that conquers the world is our faith.”  (1John 5:4).  As Jesus again becomes the center of our lives and homes, we will again be empowered to come against the culture of death and build a civilization of love.  During the mission we will discover that we are called to be disciples of the Lord.  “We can have the strength for everything through Him who empowers us.”  (Phil 4:13).
